Oh The Things You Can Try!!

So this year has proven to be super busy so just bear with me as I post in spurts! I have a couple of new nail ideas that I have tried...

I am a teacher...I try new things for the kids all the time...this is my latest teacher inspired work of art:

Dr. Seuss inspired nails! My kiddos loved them! My right hand has a 1 on the middle finger for those of you curious!

Here is another look I tried just because:

I just needed something new and I really liked the simplicity of this one!

REVIEW TIME!!!

Ok,  So I have been really looking for new ways to perfect my make up. As most of you know, I have very sensitive skin and I absolutely love my Arbonne make up! I break out every time I use something different....but putting my foundation on with my fingers just isn't cutting it. I wanted a more polished look. So, I searched and searched for the best tool to put product on my face....and...

I FOUND IT!!!

Ladies (and gents...I'm not discriminating...)

Introducing....

THE BEAUTY BLENDER:

At first I was skeptical...and it cost me at $15 so I was a little nervous that I was wasting my money, but thankfully I did not! I absolutely love the finish this sponge gives! I tried others but it just soaks up your product and leaves your foundation looking very streaky....This one does not do that at all! Here is out it works:

1. Soak the Beauty Blender
2. Squeeze the excess water out of it...I even squeeze it in a towel after squeezing the excess out.
3. Put your product in your hand (doesn't take much at all) dab onto the Beauty Blender
4. Stipple or Dab all over face.

The pointed end is used for hard to reach places around your eyes and nose the round part is for your cheeks and forehead. Some people have just put the product on the sponge but I get more bang for my buck when I put it in my hand or even on the T Zones of my  face and then dab it all over.  The sponge dries small and then puffs out each time you wet it. It is genius. I love, love, love it!

This product gives me a flawless finish. I will not use another tool to put on my foundation! I am a firm believer in the Beauty Blender! It is worth every cent I spent!

Warning: I clean mine out every day with my face wash...I did not spend the extra money to buy the cleanser. You do not have to do this though. I just do because I want a fresh start everyday. I also bought the white one because of the dye of the pink one and the fact that I have sensitive skin. Also, do not leave this product closed up....it needs to sit out to dry...otherwise it can mold and then your $15 is down the drain....or in the trash can rather.

What products or tools do you love??

XOXO,

This and That...

Oh...the life of a full time teacher, Zumba Instructor, Arbonne Consultant, Saba Associate, Wife,  and blogger...

needless to say...it's been very busy!! But here are some fun things I have to share with you:

I joined the Saba movement (after being very skeptical...it's hard to make me believe things like this actually work!) this last month (because it WORKED!) I have dropped 10lbs since using the product and I LOVE it! Not to mention I have tons of new found energy!  If you are interested, please email me at aleciaeastridge@gmail.com or find your nearest Saba Associate! Your life will forever be changed!

And here are a few more nail looks I have worn recently:

I wore this during the Christmas and New Year Holiday!

Valentine's Day is coming up ladies!

 Tribal!

I got this little gem for Christmas and I LOVE it!!! The Light was only $30 on Amazon and the Kit was only $15 on Amazon! This has also helped my manicure last longer!! (or at least look pretty until I am ready for a new look...which is every week! haha!)

I hope you have had a wonderful couple of months and have found many inspiring pins, blogs, etc to keep yourselves busy!!

XOXO,

Scared Trendy...

Ok, so maybe no one can actually be scared into being trendy but seeing as Halloween is right around the corner, I couldn't resist the catchy title.

So here is what I have had going on lately:

This is one that I did just for fun! I thought it was pretty simple put pretty! I am all about the bling!

Onto the holiday looks:

Here is a more plain yet fun look!

And of course a bit of bling to spice it up a bit!

Onto more of a Halloween look:
 Plain here.

 Bling here!

It's all about what suits your taste and what look you are going for!  I will have some more fun looks to add in a few days!

Onto other things I have been up to:

My sister sent me a picture of a girl's ghost costume and asked me to make it for my niece...well...here's the finished product:

I can't wait to post the pic of her in it! She is going to look adorable!!

And this is just something that I pulled together...
(bad pic...sorry!)

This outfit will be matched with a bow for the dress and hair in different colors. The colors I used were (yellow with white polka dots, Crimson Red, and I am working on a Teal, but you could do whatever color suits your fancy!) I bought a 2T white shirt and made a skirt and sewed it up! (i don't have a pattern...i just kind of winged it...not ideal but it turned out cute!)

What sort of projects keep you busy? And what kind of  neat looks have you come up with?

Dealing with Sorrow...

I am sorry I haven't been around lately. It's been a pretty sad time around our house lately. My husband's grandmother is in the final stages of her life and it has taken a pretty big toll on me. I know that she has lived a good, long life, but it doesn't hurt any less and it doesn't prepare me any more for what is about to come. All I know is that I have a God that I can rely on to give me strength, peace, and comfort to get through this emotional time. Please keep our family in your prayers. I will be back soon!

My New Favorite Look!

I have been sporting this look for a couple of weeks now and I am loving it! I keep getting compliment after compliment so it's about time I sat down and showed you!

These are the same colors just two different ways! It was SUPER simple! I used Essie's Tart Deco...which shows up as an orange in pictures but I can assure you it's more of a pretty coral color! It is an absolutely fabulous color that makes any skin look more tan...and trust me..I am the whitest girl out there so I am all over this color! I used the leopard stickers by Kiss. These are only $3 girls! Head to your local Dollar General and pick up a ton of cute designs...much better price than the normal $8!

I hope you girls enjoyed your Easter as much as I did!

Exhausted...

This seems to be the theme of this week for me! I absolutely cannot get enough sleep, I can't seem to find my brain...or at least I can't catch up to it, my heart is heavy, and I can't seem to get my emotions in check.

(Can I get an amen?)

Some days, being a girl is not that glamorous. I know you have all had days like this...unless you are super woman...which if you were...you need to blog all your secrets and help the rest of us sisters out!!

Anyway...I am not good at pretending that my life is always in order. My emotions can be read all over my face...which is not always a good thing...but I am me and I am so glad that people accept me for who I am, despite all the imperfections that I possess. One of the things that I have learned is exercise is great, venting to a girlfriend, your Mom, your sister, or anyone else that will listen is awesome, AND the most life changing course of action is prayer. I seriously cannot pray enough. There is a certain peace that comes with that interaction with God...especially if you can truly give everything over to Him...which is hard to do because who doesn't want to be in control of their life? I know I do...and it takes several reminders (sometimes just in one day) to realize that if I just let go and fully rely on Him that it will work out far better than I could ever imagine. If you find yourself not so much the praying type...I just encourage you to give it a try. Be open to the prayers that are answered (no is an answer too...this one is hard to swallow sometimes..we are human...we want things to go our way!). So I sit here and say all of that to say...I am giving it up to God. Everything that is kidnapping my mind and energy I am handing over with peace that everything is going to be alright. (You started singing that song didn't you?)

I know this is not one of my typical posts...it's not glamorous, pretty, or even fun but it's a part of life isn't it? And I know that you girls can relate to my ever so swaying emotions, sleep deprivation, and heavy heart.

What are some of the ways you deal? Got any secrets to share?

Liebster Award!

Jamie from Keep Calm and Plan A Party has nominated me for a Liebster Award!
This award is given to bloggers with less than 200 followers. It is a chance for me to get my name out there! That's both exciting and scary. What if I don't offer what you need? What if I don't write in a timely manner? What if I am not a great blogger after all? All of these questions I have asked myself and here is what I have come to know: I write this blog to express my creativity and talk about fun, girly things. If that is something you love to read about then you have come to the right place.

Now to continue with the rules of this award:

1. Each blogger must answer the questions the tagger has set for you.
2. Choose 11 new bloggers (I may not be great in this area yet, but I hope to get to know a lot more that I can pass this torch on to!) and link to them in your post.
3. Create 11 new questions for the chosen bloggers.
4. Go back to their page and tell them about the award.
5. Each blogger should post 11 random facts about themselves.
6. No Tag Backs!
Jamie gave me these questions to answer:

1. Where is your dream vacation spot?
A vacation I want to take before I die is a trip to Ireland. I have a cousin from there and I have always wanted to go. It is absolutely beautiful and I want to see it in person. (P.S. I Love You, anybody? Too bad not all of the scenery in that movie will be there!)

2. Favorite place to eat?
My Nanny's (My Mom's Mom) kitchen. She has made many a favorite meal in that kitchen...and the memories will be cherished forever.

3. Where is your favorite place to get decor for your home?
Flea Markets and Antique Stores! I love love love repurposing and finding little treasures that people no longer want or can't seem to find a purpose for.

4. What made you decide to start blogging?
I started a blog a few years ago for my family as a way of keeping up wth my husband and I as we moved from here to there. But I wanted to create a blog that helps me express all the girly things in this life that I absolutely love. I don't have many followers, but I have a lot of readers which is fun to think about...not many people around me really like to listen to me talk about this thing and that...but I know there is an audience out there that could benefit or relate to all things I love and I welcome that with open arms!

5. Casual or Dressy clothes?
Both. I love dressing down but I also love love love to dress up. It depends on my mood as well. The most important part is feeling pretty in whatever clothes I wear.

6. Favorite type of craft to do?
I am a lover of all things crafty! I make tutus, bows, door hangers, wall art, etc out of anything I can get my hands on! My friend and I have started painting toms and that has been super fun too!

7. Favorite craft supply?
Who doesn't love hobby lobby? But like I said, beyond that, it's antique stores and flea markets give me my inspiration!

8. What is your favorite color?
I am in love with teal! but I also like Coral!

9. Favorite date night activity?
Date night? What's that? haha...just kidding. My husband and I make time for a date every now and then. This past weekend we went to the movies and that is something I always enjoy! But one of our favorite things to do together is hike or kayak. We love the outdoors!

10. Favorite color to use in your home?
Teal...like I said, I am in love.

11. Dream home style?
I absolutely love the victorian style houses....actually older houses in general. The kind with the original wood floors, big windows, and large entry ways that are outlined in crown molding. Nothing is more beautiful than those cute little houses with all the memories that each of them hold.

Let's go back to question number 4: Apparently I have a lot to say!

Moving on...

The bloggers I'm nominating are...
1. Alex Thoughts From a Working Housewife

That is all I have at the moment, but I promise you, these ladies are awesome, funny, and worth the read! They all have something different to offer and I love them to death!

Bloggers, here are your questions:
1. Who is your favorite person?
2. What's your favorite type of food?
3. What is your style?
4. Why do you blog?
5. Where is your favorite place to shop?
6. What is your most prized posession?
7. If you get alone time, what do you do?
8. What is your favorite color?
9. What type of music do you listen to?
10. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
11.What do you want your readers to know about you? ?

11 Random Facts, in no particular order,  about me:
1. I love the smell of fresh, clean laundry
2. I have a love/hate relationship with tights.
3. I once met Vanilla Ice in the Atlanta airport on the way to spring break mission trip.
4. I love to dance and recently became a Zumba Instructor.
5. Mindy Gledhill is one of my all time favorite singers!
6. I love dresses!
7. I was known as tomboy in my elementary years.
8. The only bone I have every broken (knock on wood) is my nose from a nasty softball to the face.
9. I teach Special Education to some fabulous kiddos!
10. My hair is fine and thin and it's not fair....
11. I am a Christian.

Thank you, Jamie, for nominating me for the Liebster Award!

The Fast and The Fierce...

Where has this month gone? I mean, it was just the middle of the month! Time flies when you are having fun I guess.

I have a couple of new looks to share with you plus a hot, new hair product to share!

Look 1:
Here I used Savvy's Gotcha Grape, Maybelline's Impeccable Grey's, and Essie's Set in Stone.

Look 2:
Here I used Cover Girl's Lingering Spice and Kiss's Leopard Nail Stickers!
(I have also done this look with Loreal's Club Prive'...the mint green color...and it looked fantastic!)
I got several compliments on both nails over the past few weeks! Also...the Kiss Brand nail stickers are only $3.00! Who can't afford that! I have had mine on for over 2 weeks now and they are still on strong! Plus they last longer if I only use it as an accent!  You're Welcome Ladies!!

AND I found a great new product! I ran out of my Aquage Root Uplifting Foam and I live about 45 minutes from a big city so good products are hard to come by...SO...I did what every other girl does that lives in a super small town...I headed into the matchbox sized Wal-mart. I was searching and searching and my eyes caught on to this:

First of all it is in a super pretty, hot pink bottle...AND it has rhinestones...the girl inside of me screamed with joy! So of course I had to try it! While I do not like it as much as my Aquage, it does the job and keeps volume in my hair...so here is a new product out there for you to try! It sure doesn't hurt to explore your options ladies!

I hope you have had a fantastic February and I hope you get lucky in March!! Talk to you soon!

XOXO,
