Nails, Bows, and A Curling Wand!

It's been a busy couple of weeks...and things just are not slowing down! Where has the time gone? The holiday seasons just seem to pass us by. We have to get this and that done and by this time. Somedays I wonder how I even keep my head on straight...but I am a girl after all...we pretty much have to have together all the time. Where would life be without us?

Unpopulated! And Ugly!

Ha!

Just Kidding....but speaking of  pretty things I have some fun new stuff to share!

Here are some more nail designs that I have done:

This one is done with Loreal's Club Prive', Maybelline's Impecable Greys, and Essie's Set in Stone.

This one is done in Maybelline's Impecable Greys, OPI's White Pearl, and Pure Ice Mauvelous.

I have been having so much fun with my nails! It is so simple and easy to change out!

Also upon Halloween's approach I have created another bow:

But enough about my creative spree...which comes and goes as I have the time...I am SO excited to tell you about the Bellezza Curling Wand. I absolutely love it! I was walking through a mall one day and got talked into letting this girl curl a strand of my hair...and so I bought what she was selling. For 3 years it has been sitting in my drawer in its unopened box because I hadn't the slightest idea how to even begin to curl my hair with that thing! So after 3 long years of collecting dust, I decided I better get this thing out and give it a try. Here is how it turned out:
Ladies, this is after 8 hours of working with small children all day. I am very happy with my purchase...it wasn't near as hard as it looks, and thanks to the little glove that comes with it, I didn't burn myself! Plus, all the compliments about my hair just made my day! What girl doesn't love compliments? So of course I have been using this thing almost daily since! I am so mad that I waited 3 years to pull that baby out of that box!

You live and you learn!

Fall Is In The Air!

Ok, Girls...Fall is here and it feels WONDERFUL outside! It's the time of year where sweatshirts, scarves, boots, and warm colors start appearing in our hair! I absolutely LOVE this time of year! I love the clothes, I love the weather, and I LOVE me some Buckeye Football! With that being said, I tried some new polish! Here is my Buckeye inspiration:
This is done in Immecable Greys by Maybelline Color Show . Orly's Flicker and Essie's Set in Stone.

GO BUCKS!

I came up with another creation based on things that are really in right now. How about some animal print and some Aqua! Yes, Aqua is still in...and I love it!! I love that I can dress this for Summer and Fall. I needed something to go with a black dress to add some color to my look.

Here is what I did:
This is done with Loreal's Club Prive, OPI's Alpine Snow, and FingerPaint's Black Expressionism.

I wanted a funky zebra look butI think if you wanted to go with a more authentic zebra look you could always go out and get the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail strips. My friend Stefanie paired black polish with her fourth finger done in Leopard...it was SUPER cute! Get creative ladies...

and HAPPY  FALL!

Volumize This!!

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies....I am super excited about this new product that I have found! If you are anything like me and have the thinnest, finest hair out there...or you just want to poof up that already gorgeous amount of hair that you have...then I have the perfect product for you!!!

I was previously using Aquage Uplifting Foam:

And while I LOVE this product immenesly...it was not good for my pocket book (do people even call it that?). So then I found this AMAZING product that works just as well and is WAY less expensive!!

Yes...this is TRESemme' 24 Hour Body! You can find it at Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens...just about anywhere they sell beauty supplies..which is super convenient and awesome all wrapped into one!

Here is how to use it for maximum results:

1. Shake can.
2. Take your fingers or a fine tooth comb and separate 3 different sections along the crown of your hair. (Right Side, Back, Left Side)
3. Spray a line of the Mousse along the line of your hair on all 3 sides.
4. Take your fingers and massage the mousse through the roots all around the crown.
5. Blow dry the crown of your hair by brushing your hair up and pointing the dryer the same way you are brushing.
6. Turn your locks upside down and blow dry the rest upside down.
7. Give it a quick dry through the cool cycle to let it set (if your dryer has that option...if not...no worries..it will still look amazing!)
8. Flip your head back up and see the VOLUME at it's best!!

If you are anything like me, then you have to wash your hair EVERYDAY. It is actually better for you to wash it every other day. When I use this product, I can now wash my hair every other day because it helps keep my hair from getting oily overnight! I am LOVING this product!!! This is now an essential in my cabinet!!

GO GET IT GIRLS!!

We're In Business!!

So this past week I helped a friend and co-worker get her daughter's 5th birthday celebration together by doing the cake and making her tutu! I had SO much fun! Here is what it looked like:

After doing this, I posted it on my facebook wall and got two custom orders! And have decided to now take orders part time!  Here are what they look like:
This one is for Halloween, my client is going to mix it with some fairy wings for her daughter.

This one is for my client's daughter's second birthday! She is going to look TUTU cute in this!!

And then my sister ordered this one for my niece for Halloween:

I had to make a bow for my sweet niece! How could I resist!?

So with all of this creativeness going on around in my head, I made another bow for my niece:
She's a John Deere girl!

I have had so much fun! Not only do I get to do something I love on the side, I also get to put a piece of me in other people's homes! This has been such a blessing!

If you would like a custom made tutu and/or bow, please email me at aleciaeastridge@gmail.com. I would be more than happy to make something for any special occasion or just because that sweet girl needs to enjoy the frills of being a girl!!

I have an obsession...

I have recently posted quite a few posts about nails....well...I have another one. I think I may be a little obsessed with nails, but it's just too fun and SO easy! If I can do it...you can too!

Here is my latest creation:

I used Tart Deco and Set in Stone by Essie.

To get the fading glitter put a dab of Set in stone at the bed of each nail, wipe the brush on the side of the bottle opening to get all the glitter off, and then gently brush forward. It may take a few turns, but I am telling you it looks great and doesn't take long to catch on!

Happy Painting!!!

Things That Make Me Happy...

There are many things that make this girl happy....BUT not a lot more than finding an awesome pair of shoes for a steal!

I got these little pretties at K MART for $10. I never go into K MART but I am so glad I did! This put me on cloud 9 all day!! I cannot wait to put them back on my feet! There is also a fun little website called ShoeDazzle that is awesome! You fill out a profile and they recommend fun shoes at great prices just for you! It's like a personal shopper on the internet! SCORE! Go Check it Out!

I have also been inspired lately, by my niece, to make some fun things with my sewing machine! I LOVE to sew!! And this is just some of the things I have done thus far: (Don't mind the bad photos and wrinkles)

These were so much fun!! I am thinking about making an Etsy account because I enjoy making them so much! If you would be interested please email me at aleciaeastridge@gmail.com. I am just curious to see if it would be worth it! I don't just do these things either...I do bows and such too. Just let me know what you are looking for and I will make it happen!

Have a great day Ladies!

Nails, Nails, Nails!

So I have had a lot of free time lately that has allowed me to get creative! (a little too much so my husband says!) Anyway...I have posted some nails pics from previous posts which you can view here and here.

Drum roll for the new looks I tried out:

VOILA!

I used O.P.I's Cajun Shrimp (looks red in this picture...so red would also look nice!)
and O.P.I's White Tips for the dots!

This is probably one of my favorites thus far! I used Loreal's Club Prive (could also use Essie's Turquoise and Caicos which they were out of when I went to Walmart and Walgreens here), O.P.I's White Tips, and O.P.I's Cajun Shrimp. This one reminds me of the Beach, plus this minty color is SO in right now! It looks beautiful on any skin type!

Here I used Pro's Glamrock and Savvy's Gotcha Grape!

These were super fun to do and not that hard actually! If I can do it, you can do it!!

You may be asking...how did you get those lines, dots, and hearts? Well, head over to your local Sally's Beauty Supply and get this:
It is a Double Up Brush that allows you to stripe and dot! Click on the pictures for details! I love this little gem!

Any Questions, just ask!

Happy Painting!

I Am Not Making This Up!

Ladies, I have been having some serious issues with my make up lately! As you know, I am a big fan of natural make up and skin care for a lot of reasons, but mainly because it works BEST for me and my sensitive skin! (that, and I know when I am 40 I won't look 40, go me!) Anyway...I jumped on the Bare Minerals band wagon and started using their make up about 8 years ago. I LOVED IT!! It was so great to look at my skin and know that I didn't have all that make up that caked on my face like the Clinique stuff did (as well as the cheap walmart brands...I mean really...you get what you pay for). So over the last 8 years I have really enjoyed wearing my mineral powder make up! It was light and made my skin look great...until this last year...I started noticing my face start breaking out (have I mentioned how much I love my skin?). I reached this desperate place where I HAD to try something new. So of course I had to try Arbonne and I have fallen in love.

I never thought I would go back to liquid foundation until I tried this:
Arbonne's Perfecting Liquid Foundation with SPF 15.

Here is how Day 1 went:

5:45am: Got dressed, did my hair and put my make up on.
6:30-5pm- Work
5:30pm- Home and get dinner on.
7:00- My husband looks at me and asks me why I put make up back on!!!

Hello...did you catch that? My husband, of all people, asks me why I put make up back on. I hadn't thought about the make up that I had applied so early that morning until he said that. I WAS SOLD!!! I said...SIGN ME UP!! I am getting this....because little did he know...I had never reapplied and the fact that he noticed that my face was still looking great from the morning just made my decision that much easier! I would be silly not to get it!

So of course as soon as I figured this out I called my friend Hally and told her all about it. (She and I were on the Bare Minerals bandwagon together...and she was having the same problems I was). She is now hooked on Arbonne as well!!

I am telling you ladies, this is the stuff!! It is a must try! If you send me an email (aleciaeastridge@gmail.com) I will send you a sample to match to your face!

The best part about this make up is that it is just as light feeling as the Bare Minerals, it is all natural, and it lasts all day!! It adjusts to your skin tone too! (BTW. DID I TELL YOU THAT THIS FIRMS YOUR SKIN AT THE SAME TIME?? NATURAL BOTOX IN A BOTTLE!! are you with me now?) I am wearing Honey Beige (ladies, I am as light as they come...but this really is the perfect color for me!) Let me send you a sample so that you can try it too! It will change your look and you will LOVE IT! (as always...if you do not...Arbonne has a 45 day guarantee...Arbonne wants you to try their stuff! No money lost! Happy client=returning client!)

Here is what I pair with my Perfecting Liquid Foundation:

Arbonne Make Up Primer
Arbonne Triple Action Mascara
Arbonne Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Arbonne Concealer
Arbonne Bronzer
Maybelline Stiletto Liquid Liner

I am still using my brushes from Bare Minerals because good brushes are a must! I have not used Arbonne's yet. I have a deal for those of you who are interested in this Arbonne package that includes everything I mentioned (minus the eyeliner and the brushes...although I could work something out for you if you are interested in the Arbonne brushes). If you are interested, email me at aleciaeastridge@gmail.com. You can also pay retail prices at arbonne.com or talk to your independent consultant and see if they have their own packaged deal.

Nailed It!

So I have a little more time on my hands after the move we just made so I have been getting a little creative with the nail polish! Here is my new mani:

I used Party Pink by Savvy and Black Expressionism by Finger Paints.

Super fun and super easy for a quick change to your nails!

I know I have talked about this product before but I just can't get enough of it!

This Awaken Sea Salt Scrub from Arbonne is amazing! In a before post I had mentioned how I use it before using a self-tanner. But let me tell you about why I love it for the hands!

When I first started my business with Arbonne, this is one of the first products I ordered! I loved it and I wanted to use it on everybody at my parties so they could see how wonderful it really is. So one day I am sitting in my kitchen and my dad is about to leave for a road trip and I convince him before he leaves to let me wash his hands and "practice" using this before the party I was having that night! He was a good sport and let me do my thing! He complained that it was gooey (duh...while it's on your hands it is!) and I told him that he would never have to do it again just humor me this time! So I finished and he left. Two hours later he called me and this is what he said, "Alecia, what is that stuffed called that you used on my hands?" I told him. Then he said, "I don't know what that stuff is but it works...I just looked down at my hands and they look younger!" Now ladies, if my DAD is saying this (who pays attention to nothing) then it must mean that it works!! Get it! I am telling you...it. is. awesome!

If you would like this product, please go to arbonne.com or email me at aleciaeastridge@gmail.com for more details!

Back and Redder than ever!!

So I have just made a move to the great state of Oklahoma, hence why it's been 50 forevers since I have been on here...but I am settled in to the new house and am ready to start getting back to talking about all the girly things I love!

First things first...if you have ever put a house together you know that some things are left behind and you can either throw them out...OR..get crafty! You can bet your buttons that this girl got crafty!

Here is what I did with two stools that were at the house:
There are two that looked like this...but I wanted to make them my own!

So...step 1:
Take extra fabric from the top so there is nothing in the way from a smooth finish!

Step 2:
Lay Stool on top of fabric and measure around to make sure it will fit!

Step 3:
Staple fabric underneath chair (the electric staple gun is my new best friend!)

Step 4:
Go all the way around the chair with a partner pulling tight while you staple! (thanks to my mother in law for being such a great helper/creative outlet!)

Step 5:
Fold and iron opposite colored fabric into 1/2 inch thick piece and measure to go all the way around it. Then nail brads to hold into place!

VOILA! You have new chairs that are super cute!!

Then...with all the other fabric, you tie in other pieces such as these:

(don't mind the mugs!)

These are just frames that I stapled fabric around!

I also sewed 2 place mats for a little breakfast nook:
(don't mind the finger at the bottom right of this pic! oops!)

And there you have a fresh look to a new kitchen doing all the fun/girly things you love to do!!

On to the next project!

Now after all this moving and such, I got to looking at my nails and thought...how in the world did I let them start looking so badly!!  SO...I decided to start playing around with my fingernail polish and this is my new look of the week:

So girly and so cute! I love it! I used PRO nail polish in Glamrock and Punki Purple (don't ask me..it comes out looking more red than pink...but nonetheless cute!!!)

I am so glad to be back!!

Vita What?

So we all know that Vitamins are good for us...blah blah blah...but which one do I take?

If you are anything like me you choke on the the horse pills they call multi-vitamins and they taste
AWFUL! So what's a girl gonna do?

You BET I did!!!! Who says that vitamin gummies are just for kids?

FINALLY a vitamin I don't gag on when I try to take it! Thank you whoever came up with these!!! I am telling you ladies, I LOVE them! I can now get the essential vitamins I need without almost killing myself in the process!! Look who's winning now!!

But what makes these the best for me? Well ladies, let me tell you a secret!! I was talking to my doctor the other day and he was telling me that just about any multivitamin you take is going to be better than not taking one at all(...yes thank you...I didn't already know that...) BUT....what I didn't know was...you really need to take one with Chromium in it!

Ok, Hold up...What's that and why do I need it?

Girls, Chromium is the key to helping our bodies use the insulin it produces, which helps speed up our metabolism (because let's face it ladies, we aren't getting any younger), which then helps us break down fat for permanent weight loss! Hello? How come I am just now hearing about this?

So of course I had to share it with all of you!! Who doesn't want to help their bodies burn fat? **Disclaimer...this isn't a weight loss pill...or a cure for weight problems...you still have to eat healthy and exercise...so don't think that all you have to do is go out and get a vitamin with chromium in it** Do look at it as another tool in your tool belt to getting healthier!

Here's to a healthier, happier YOU!!!

XOXO,
