Nailing your Valentine Look!

So I have recently started thinking about Valentine's day and some looks that you could create with your nails! Here are a couple that I came up with...the 4th nail could be a quick change when you want a different look in a short amount of time. Here are a couple of the looks:

I used Maybelline's Impeccable Greys, OPI's Alpine Snow, and Savvy's Party Pink.

I think using the Party Pink as the background with white polka dots would be super cute as well...

More Valentine options coming soon!!

Getting Older...

You know you're getting old when...

1. You and your teeth don't sleep together.

2. Your try to straighten out the wrinkles in your socks and discover you aren't wearing any.

3. At the breakfast table you hear snap, crackle, pop and you're not eating cereal.

4. Your back goes out but you stay home.

5. When you wake up looking like your driver's license picture.

6. It takes two tries to get up from the couch.

7. When your idea of a night out is sitting on the patio.

8. When happy hour is a nap.

9. When you're on vacation and your ENERGY runs out before your money does.

10. When you say something to your kids that your mother said to You, and you always hated it.

11. When all you want for your birthday is to not be reminded of your age.

12. When you step off a curb and look down one more time to make sure the street is still there.

13. Your idea of weight lifting is standing up.

14. It takes longer to rest than it did to get tired.

15. Your memory is shorter and your complaining lasts longer.

16. Your address book has mostly names that start with Dr.

17. You sit in a rocking chair and can't get it going.

18. The pharmacist has become your new best friend.

19. Getting "lucky" means you found your car in the parking lot.

20. The twinkle in your eye is merely a reflection from the sun on your bifocals.

21. It takes twice as long - to look half as good.

22. Everything hurts, and what doesn't hurt - doesn't work.

23. You look for your glasses for half an hour and they were on your head the whole time.

24. You sink your teeth into a steak and they stay there.

25. You give up all your bad habits and still don't feel good.

26. You have more patience, but it is actually that you just don't care anymore.

27. You finally get your head together and your body starts falling apart.

28. You wonder how you could be over the hill when you don't even remember being on top of it.

Can I get an AMEN???

Truth be told...we have all heard these funny things...but some of them are SO VERY TRUE!!

So why am I bringing this up?

Well...I have heard myself saying some incredible things the past few months...things like:

"I used to love Winter, but now I just hurt."
"This year, I will have known you for 20 years." (that number is only increasing!)
"Why am I yawning at 9:30?"
"Where did the wrinkles below my eyes come from?"
"Why is my skin not bouncing back after I pull on it?"

Seriously though...all of these things have come out of my mouth recently. I am constantly reminded that I am not getting younger. Now, don't get me wrong. There is a lot of beauty that comes with age...Drew Barrymore anybody? I'm just sayin...

But then there are the dreaded things that come with aging...like poor eyesight, soreness in places you never thought possible, things you could do yesterday are harder today, your skin isn't as elastic as it used to be. The list could go on and on.

And because I was feeling these things...especially with my skin and my face... I had to do something. Girls, I literally looked in the mirror and had no idea how these signs of aging popped up on me. So, I decided to take a look into my arbonne supplies. I came across this:

As many of you know, I have taken some steps to keep my skin looking healthy by using the Arbonne Perfecting Liquid Foundation...a choice I am SUPER happy about...along with using the Re9 advanced anti-aging system. I LOVE my products. I like knowing that I am not putting that nasty mineral oil or left over buffet food on my face and body! (click on the link to see my post on that!) And I am very happy I added this little supplement to my regimen. It has a blend of rejuvenating skin supporting nutrients, including the Arbonne Antioxidant Skin Support Blend, with Vitamins A, C, E. Bilberry fruit extract, quercetin, alpha lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10, vitamins A, C, D and E which gives your skin the nourishment it needs on the inside to maintain a more youthful appearance on the outside. I have been using it for a week and I can already tell how much it is helping me. I don't like to go anywhere without make up, but now I don't mind. It really helps that I am being consistent with my Re9 Anti-Aging Skincare along with taking the supplement. But that's the way anything works right? I mean...you can't lose weight and keep it off if you aren't being consistent. So yay me! I just had to share this little piece of heaven with you! What are you doing for your skin?

Are you GEL'n?

Attention all my curly girls!!

I have a new product that I HAD to share with you!! I found this product at Walmart:

It's TIGI Curlesque Curls Rock Amplifier.

This product does not leave your hair crunchy at all!  It lasts forever because it does not take much! Out of all the products I have used...trust me...it's been a LOT...this is THE ONE!

Here's the deal though....I do not just put gel in my hair and let it go. My hair is fine and thin so I look like a wet noodle when I just let it go. Oh, to have that thick beautiful hair! I digress...moving along...This is my process:

1. Wash hair : Shampoo and Conditioner
2. Brush out hair and scrunch with a towel.
3. Put small amount of amplifier in my hand
(my hair is just past my shoulders and I used half a pump...the size of a pencil eraser)
4. Turn head upside down and scrunch amplifier all throughout my hair.
5. Wash hands...it does get pretty sticky.
6. I use my CHI hair dryer:

This was quite an expensive investment...but I bought mine 3 years ago and it still works wonderfully!! The diffuser is THE best!! I get great curls and save my arms the hassle of scrunching!
But any dryer with a diffuser will work! The diffuser is the key to softer curls!

7. Spray down my fly aways and rock the curls!

It seems like a lot of steps...but it takes me no time at all!

What curling tips do you have?

XOXO,

AdoorABLE!!!

I was really disappointed when Christmas came around when I made my wreath and it wouldn't fit on the door. Why? Because the space between the door and the screen door is too narrow. So I had to think of something that would be the perfect accent for my door! So I got crafty and did this:

I LOVE it!!! I have had the materials for a while, but have not had the time to sit down and focus on it...until today!

This project was pretty simple! It took a bit of time and patience, but when it comes down to it, anyone can do it!

So here is what I did:

I got this little gem from Hobby Lobby along with a roll of jute for about $5. I have seen other people use the cardboard letters (also available at Hobby Lobby) but I love the simplicity of the thin letter so I chose this one. Either one will do the job!

Then I got my materials ready:
Handy dandy hot glue gun, the role of jute, and a pair of fabric scissors.

Then I started gluing:
I glued the edges first before I started wrapping it around the letter.

This is the part that takes a lot of patience...not because it's hard...it just takes a bit of time. Be ready to use a LOT of glue on this project. I used a small glue gun with the small glue sticks and I probably went through about 10 sticks (I also used a bit too much glue in some areas but you can't tell!) I was pretty surprised by the amount of glue I used so I wanted to make sure I let everyone know to have plenty!

I was pretty pleased when it was all wrapped. Mainly because I was done and I actually got the jute on straight!! GO me! (I'm telling you...if I can do it...you can do it!)

Then I added the little accents! I used some left over fabric to make my flowers. They were pretty simple to make. Look at this great tutorial if you are not familiar with making fabric flowers. I  glued some grossgrain ribbon to hold it on the door and voile:

You have your masterpiece!

I love getting my craft on! What's your latest creation?

XOXO,

Catch up time....

I haven't posted anything new in a while...so I'm here to play catch up...here are a few more nail pics:

Loreal's Impeccable Greys, ULTA's Mint Condition,  ULTA's Pinata-yada-yada

Finger Paints Black Expressionism, ULTA's Pinata-yada-yada

ULTA's Limelight, Milani's Red

This past december I also got:

My Zumba Certification!! More posts to come about this new journey!!

I also got creative with some toddler pants:

These were NOT easy! I went to Hobby Lobby after making these and got a Simplicity Pattern for .99. I love that store! Plus, what an awesome deal on the pattern?! So I will eventually use the pattern to make some more...but for now...I have enough on my plate!!

I have always liked hats...more baseball caps than anything..but I have always seen these hats in the store and wondered if I could pull them off. Well...my friend Marley surprised me with this scarf and hat and I had to try it:
Not too bad! This just goes to show you that sometimes you should just go for it if you think you might like it!! Thank you, Marley for such cute new accessories!

Oh! And my newest piece of jewelry:
This is not a great pic but I love this necklace. It's a bubbles necklace from a cute little boutique in town. It was the perfect touch to my Christmas dress! I also have this one:

I have worn this one several times and ALWAYS get compliments on it! I love this color! I wish I had a picture with it on...but I have yet to get one...maybe that will be on the to do list so you can see it worn with several different outfits! This is a statement for sure!

What are some of the pretty things that you love?

XOXO,

Hello 2013...

Happy New Year everybody! With every new year comes resolutions. Why is it that we wait to make these resolutions? Why do we not acknowledge the change we need to make and make it right then? Is it because we are lazy? Is it because it's hard to change? Is it because we need an excuse because deep down we have no idea where to even begin so not thinking about it is easier? I think if we searched deep within ourselves we would know the answer to that. I am making this new year about immediate change. I don't want to wait to make changes that need to be made. I want to wake up everyday and know that I have done everything I can to be the best version of myself. Everyday is a new day. If I have a bad day, so what? Those will come and they will go...because everyday is a new day. We choose the day we are going to have. It's time to start letting go of the bad and focusing on the good. It's a positive year for me folks! Is it going to be easy? Probably not...like I said...change is not easy...but with the right people in your life, and the right determination I can do anything! Who's with me?

XOXO,
